At Steer, German is responsible for the delivery of the company strategy in Latin America and is a member of our executive management team. He has over 20 years’ experience in transport consulting, working extensively across Latin America.

German started his career working for TransMilenio, Bogota’s renowned BRT system. He was part of the initial team, created by the mayor’s office, for the inception and early start of this scheme in 1999. Since then, he has worked on many other major public transport schemes in Latin America, supporting all phases of the delivery from inception to design, structuring transactions, financing, public consultation and implementation.

German’s recent work has focused on planning and advising the structure and delivery of transactions, advising government, multilateral agencies, non-governmental organisations and the private sector.

An infrastructure plan for the next twenty years

The Colombian government wants to position the country as a power in transport infrastructure so as to increase competitiveness and to overcome the underinvestment of the twentieth century. The Intermodal Transport Master Plan, with investment of approximately US$ 3.3 billion in the next ten years, and a new methodology to prioritise projects, will help them reach this goal.
